Irvine, Calif.-based Warrior Golf Properties has purchased Reems Creek Golf Club in Weaverville, N.C. from an ownership group including Lee King, Jim Floyd, Bill Robinson, former golf commentator Ben Wright and legendary former University of North Carolina basketball coach Dean Smith.
Reems Creek opened in 1989 and was designed by Hawtree & Son of Oxford, England, who also designed Royal Birkdale. The sales price for the semi-private club was not disclosed.
Reems Creek was the fourth acquisition for Warrior Golf Properties, which is managed by Brendan Flaherty, who is also the founder and CEO of Warrior Custom Golf Inc. The company had previously purchased The Club at Runaway Bay in Lake Bridgeport, Texas and Marion Oaks Country Club and Huntington Golf Club, both located in Ocala, Fla.
