Spirit Golf Management has been acquired by The Sports Facilities Companies (SFC). The move comes as SFC establishes its new Golf Division, with Spirit Golf continuing to operate under its existing brand.
SFC is a leading resource for managing and developing a variety of sports, recreation, wellness and events facilities, from sports tourism and recreation master planning and program planning to professional facility management. The company manages more than 100 venues and employs some 5,000 people.
Spirit Golf’s expertise in municipal golf course operations, youth player development and community-centered golf initiatives will add to SFC’s network and operational abilities. Spirit Golf’s management/consulting portfolio comprises 10 golf facilities in the Northeast U.S., including Makefield Highlands Golf Club in Yardley, Pa.; Five Ponds Golf Club in Warminster, Pa.; Fairways Golf Club in Warrington, Pa.; Oxford Valley Golf Course in Fairless Hills, Pa.; Clearbrook Golf Club in Monroe Township, N.J.;, Westlake Golf & Country Club in Jackson, N.J.; and Harlem Valley Golf Club in Wingdale, N.Y.
In 2025, Spirit Golf joined Greenlight Advisors’ Certified Partner Program to provide advisory services to municipalities and municipal golf courses. This further aligns with SFC’s goal of supporting public-sector partners.
“Spirit Golf has built an extraordinary reputation of improving communities through best-in-class programming, strong operations, and optimal guest experience,” said Jason Clement, founder and CEO of The Sports Facilities Companies. “Their approach aligns with our mission to improve the health and economic vitality of the communities we serve.”
Approximately 160 full-time and seasonal Spirit Golf employees will make the move to SFC, including a team of PGA of America golf professionals. Mike Attara, founder and president of Spirit Golf, will lead the new golf division as SFC’s senior vice president, alongside Kevin Beirne as vice president.

“Our focus has always been to make golf more accessible while creating welcoming environments for players of all ages,” Attara said. “Our standard of excellence in operations, teaching & coaching, event management, community engagement, and customer service aligns perfectly with SFC’s mission. Through SFC’s network, we have additional resources allowing us to expand youth programming and integrate the Spirit Golf Academy model to off course facilities nationwide.”
The acquisition also encompasses the Spirit Golf Academy, which offers instruction and player development programs for all ages and skill levels. Its curriculum will be incorporated into future programming at SFC facilities. The partnership aims to integrate golf programming into SFC’s sports and recreation offerings nationwide, including pilot golf programs at youth camps and community events designed to introduce young athletes to multiple sports.
