The PGA of America and Cat Island Partners Ltd. have broken ground on a $200 million PGA Village project on Cat Island in the Bahamas.
PGA Village The Bahamas will feature a Rees Jones-designed championship golf course, golf cottages, a clubhouse, a PGA learning and performance center, a PGA historical center in the first phase of development. Phase one will is estimated to take up to three years.
The waterfront property sits on 1,906 acres and includes more than two miles of beachfront. The development will include a residential community of single-family homes on sites averaging more than an acre each and village town homes.
When completed, PGA Village The Bahamas will feature a casino, tennis courts and a beach club.
The project will provide more than 200 construction jobs and more than 900 permanent jobs upon completion.
