Resort developer Grupo Grand Coral announced plans for an 18-hole course, to be designed by Hall-of-Fame golfer Nick Price at its new Grand Coral Riviera Maya resort, near Playa del Carmen.
This is the first golf course to be designed by Price, and it will take two years to complete. In addition to the 18-holes, the course will feature 123 homes, called the Nick Price Residences.
The $2.5 billion Grand Coral Riviera Maya will cover 561 oceanfront acres, and will include hotels, resorts, residences, and entertainment and retails outlets. Construction is planned to be completed over the next 10 years. $700 million has been invested to date.
The development will be eco-friendly, with 75 percent of the land saved as natural space, parks and gardens. All greenery removed during construction will be replanted upon completion.
