European Golf Design, the joint venture design company of the European Tour and IMG, has been selected to design a scenic private club in the village of Anif, five k.m. outside Salzburg, Austria.
The golf course site is bordered by the castle of Schloss Anif, made famous in the movie “The Sound of Music.”
The club, Golfplatz Anif, is being developed by a group of local investors who hope to make it the preeminent private club in the Salzburg region.
European Golf Design currently has 30 courses in Europe, the Middle East and South Africa to its name, with another 30 in either design or construction in locales including Croatia, Denmark, Greece, Holland, Portugal, Russia and South Africa.
