Pinnacle Golf Properties, a course-management firm with a multi-course portfolio, has been selected by Walden Golf Group to manage Serenoa Golf Club of Sarasota. The move marks Pinnacle’s first management venture in Florida. In addition to Serenoa, the company manages 13 courses across North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.
“Serenoa Golf Club is exactly the kind of property where Pinnacle can add tremendous value – a great course with a strong local following and untapped potential. We’re honored to be entrusted with this iconic Sarasota course and look forward to exceeding expectations for both ownership and guests,” said David Taylor, CEO of Pinnacle.
Immediately after being appointed, Pinnacle began working closely with on-site staff to enhance the overall golfer experience. The company also implemented PitchCRM, an email marketing automation platform tailored for golf operations.
Most recently, Pinnacle introduced CourseRev.ai, an AI-powered voice concierge that enables 24/7 tee time bookings and improves course efficiency by addressing overcrowding and pace of play. Golfers can interact with the technology by phone, chat, text and email to ensure a personalized experience.
Additionally, Erik Gowdy joined Serenoa as course superintendent to lead a comprehensive agronomy program aimed at improving course conditioning. With expertise in turf management, Gowdy plays a key role in maintaining Serenoa’s reputation as one of the region’s premier public golf courses. His efforts help preserve the course’s unique layout, which features water on every hole, more than 50 bunkers and is surrounded by native wetlands and wildlife.
Future enhancements include the addition of Toptracer Range, a virtual technology system that elevates the driving range experience. Features include shot tracking, virtual golf courses and interactive games. Golfers will be able to monitor ball trajectory, distance, speed, launch angle and other metrics in real time through screen and app integration.
Designed by Mark Alden, Serenoa is a daily-fee course that offers three membership options, though membership is not required. The 18-hole, par-72 course spans 6,270 yards and has been recognized by Florida Golf News as “one of the top 100 courses in Florida and one of the top three in Sarasota.”
Amenities include a driving range, putting green, short-game area, full-service pro shop, clubhouse, full practice facility with grass range, beverage carts, a restaurant with full bar, and a lakeside dining room available for hosting banquets, weddings and other events.
