In just two years, Details Hospitality, Sports & Leisure has become the largest golf course operator in Portugal. The privately held company, headquartered in Lisbon, Portugal, now oversees nine courses, including some of the country’s best-known names: Dom Pedro Vilamoura Golf, PGA Aroeira Lisboa, Palmares, and Vale Pisão.
It’s a fast rise — and a strategic one.
“We’re never going to be huge,” said Nuno Sepúlveda, CEO. “We just want to do the specific thing that we can do well.”
What Sepúlveda and his team do well is take a full-circle view of the golf and resort business. From operations and asset management to rebranding and repositioning, Details is carving out a space as a boutique operator with big capabilities.
Details launched in 2023 with backing from Arrow Global, one of Europe’s largest investment companies. Arrow is known for its deep holdings in real estate and credit, and Details now sits within a growing portfolio of hospitality, sports and leisure brands.
Arrow’s presence matters. It gives Details access to financial expertise, operational playbooks, and a web of sister companies across five European markets.
That structure has helped fuel growth: Since 2021, Arrow’s acquisitions have positioned Details as one of Portugal’s top 10 hotel operators, its largest golf course operator, and the country’s fastest-growing hospitality platform overall.

“One business brings in the other,” Sepúlveda said. “It’s a 360 approach.”
Details’ golf portfolio includes a mix of standalone facilities and courses attached to resorts — a format common across the Mediterranean. Its footprint spans a range of course sizes: one 27-hole complex, seven 18-hole courses, and a single 9-hole layout.
But Sepúlveda said the model goes beyond numbers.
“We understand the resort business and all the moving parts that come with it,” he said. “That’s our strength in business.”
With a background that includes senior roles at Costa Navarino in Greece, Discovery Hotel Management, and Dolce Hotels & Resorts, Sepúlveda brings both golf operations and hospitality management experience.
Portugal’s draw
Golf tourism continues to be a major growth driver in Portugal, with visitors drawn by mild weather, scenic layouts, and an easy connection to food and culture.
“You don’t just come to play golf,” Sepúlveda said. “It’s the food, the people, the whole experience.”
That outlook shapes Details’ marketing and sales strategy, which leans heavily on international networking. The company also offers owners full management services, including rebranding and repositioning, CapEx planning, and integrated sales efforts.
“We can actually do a 360 on your business,” Sepúlveda said. “We have some of the finest professionals in the business with international experience — and the vision to raise the standards.”
The company is now eyeing growth in Spain and Italy. The focus will be selective: older properties that need repositioning, new clients looking for tailored partnerships, and opportunities where the company’s model fits.
“We would like to grow our rebranding and repositioning,” Sepúlveda said. “It’s just about finding the right wheels and the right clients.”
