Troon Golf has added two more properties to its growing management list.
The Scottsdale, Ariz.-based operator will run Colonial Golf & Tennis Club in Harrisburg, Pa., and Makai Golf Club at The St. Regis Princeville Resort on Kauai, Hawaii.
The semi-private Colonial Golf & Tennis Club, designed in 2003 by Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest & Associates, added a redesigned clubhouse and a new golf shop in a 2007 renovation.
Co-owned by Triple Crown Corp., headed by CEO Mark DiSanto, Colonial features state-of-the-art tennis and swimming facilities in addition to the 18-hole championship course.
A 1971 Robert Trent Jones Jr. design, Makai in 2010 will finish a multi-million-dollar renovation as part of a similar makeover at the resort, formerly known as the Princeville Hotel.
Changes at the course include refiguring of the greens complex, reshaping of bunkers and refurbishing cart paths and comfort stations. The practice facility also has undergone a facelift, and a new clubhouse is on the drawing board.
Alex Nakajima, who formerly worked for Troon’s operations in Japan, has been named general manager at the course.
