Troon has been selected to manage Westbrook Country Club in Mansfield, Ohio. Troon Privé, the company’s private club division, will oversee club operations, agronomy, food and beverage, retail, lodging, and membership sales and marketing.
Founded in 1902, Westbrook features an 18-hole Donald Ross-designed golf course. The 6,935-yard layout is recognized among the top private courses in Ohio by Golfweek and has hosted two Ohio Amateur Championships, PGA Junior Series events and an NCAA Division III final.
The club recently expanded its clubhouse with a 34,000-square-foot addition that includes a 10,000-square-foot banquet and events center, three dining spaces and a fitness center. In 2022, Westbrook opened a new resort-style pool complex. The club also added a 19th-hole lounge with two Trackman indoor simulator bays.
“As we began planning the club’s future, we explored several options for managing our club,” said owners Dan and Brenda Niss. “In the end, we agreed that Troon was the best fit for us.”
Westbrook also offers eight guest suites available to members and their guests. The suites include kitchenettes and living rooms, with access to club dining, the pool and fitness facilities.
“Westbrook Country Club represents everything that makes private clubs special — a storied Donald Ross design, meaningful recent capital investments and a deeply engaged membership,” said Joe Langford, Troon senior vice president of operations.
