Troon announced this morning that it has acquired Atlanta-based club management company Bobby Jones Links. As part of the agreement, BJL will continue to operate as the Bobby Jones Links brand but with the support and benefit of Troon’s resources.
Whitney Crouse, CEO of Bobby Jones Links, and Steve Willy, COO, will continue in those positions and BJL will maintain its Club Support Center in Atlanta. Members and guests of all BJL-managed facilities will also continue to receive the same services.
“Steve Willy and I thoroughly enjoy this business and love this company,” Crouse said. “For 26 years, we have continually made incremental improvements and added more talented people to better serve our clients and team members. Now, we are so excited to be part of the Troon family. Bobby Jones Links, powered by Troon, will be very compelling, enabling us to make an even bigger difference for those we serve.”
Bobby Jones Links was founded in 2000 and currently manages 34 facilities in 13 states. Its acquisition expands Troon’s reach in specific markets and brings more talent and resources under its purview.
“We are thrilled to welcome Bobby Jones Links to the Troon family,” said Tim Schantz, president and CEO of Troon. “Whitney and Steve are both incredible leaders with strong industry voices. They’ve developed an extraordinary company that we’ve admired for years, with an outstanding team of professionals working in both the corporate office and in the field. We are committed to helping the Bobby Jones Links brand prosper.”
Troon was founded in 1990 and has become the largest golf and golf-related hospitality company in the world. It provides services in more than 45 states and 40 countries. The list of companies under its umbrella is also extensive, with 15 acquisitions since 2014.
