Stensballegaard Golf, Huntsman Springs,  Lion Lake capture Development of Year honors

Stensballegaard Golf in Horsens, Denmark, Huntsman Springs in Driggs, Idaho, and Lion Lake Country Club in Guangdong Province, China, have been honored as the first, second and third place finishers in Golf Inc. magazine’s annual Development of the Year contest for 2010.

“The magnitude of many of the entries for Development of the Year were outstanding — from U.S. to International submissions,” said Katina Cavagnaro, publisher of Golf Inc. “

Golf Inc. will honor the winners and finalists in the upcoming Winter issue of Golf Inc. magazine.

Stensballegaard Golf, designed by Rick Baril of von Hagge, Smelek & Baril, was honored as the top finisher. Second place was Huntsman Springs, designed by David McLay Kidd of DMK Golf Design. Third place went to Lion Lake Country Club, designed by Rick Jacobson of Jacobson Golf Course Design, Inc.

Finalists were Modry Las in Choszczno, Poland, Bowes Creek Country Club in Elgin, Ill., and Lyngbygaard Golf Club in Brabrand, Denmark.

Judges for the contest were Fidel Garcia, president of Ryangolf Corp.; Mike Nuzzo, principal of Nuzzo Course Design; and Randy Russell, principal of RussellGolf Design.
