Rudy Anderson leaves Pacific Links

Rudy Anderson is no longer running Pacific Links International. The 42-year veteran of the golf industry had been CEO of its global activities outside of China since 2016 and had been with the company since 2011. In that time, the Chinese-based company had become the world’s largest reciprocal network with 540 courses in 52 countries.

Pacific Links International connects golf members in China with golf clubs in partnership with Pacific Links through organized outbound travel.  Its membership count in China exceeded 20,000.

“We are proud of what we accomplished,” Anderson said. “It’s been a fantastic experience with countless memories that are among the best in my life.”

The company was hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic, which shuttered much of its Asian operations in January and February.

Anderson said he expects the company to continue into the future, but will likely restructure. It is owned by Du Sha, who is founder and chairman.

Anderson has a storied career in the golf industry, which includes 23 years with ClubCorp where his responsibilities while living in Asia, Europe and the United States included corporate oversight of club acquisitions, regional operations, and direct management of clubs and resorts.

During the course of his career, he has transacted more than $700 million in golf course assets, and Golf Inc. ranked him as one of the industry’s “The 25 Most Powerful People in Golf” in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Anderson has been active in the Asia Golf Industry Federation, the Society of International Business Fellows, the Club Manager’s Association and the National Golf Course Owners Association.

Anderson’s said his plans for the future include remaining engaged in the industry while also enjoying some leisure time.
