Billy Casper Golf takes over Kitson & Partners portfolio

Billy Casper Golf has taken over Kitson & Partners Clubs, adding 13 golf courses to its portfolio.

Kitson & Partners Clubs was a division of Kitson Partners, which decided to exit the golf management business so that it could focus on its core business — real estate investment and development.

“Although our companies are alike in client-, customer- and employee-centric approaches, Billy Casper Golf is fully focused on golf and has the industry’s most advanced operating platform,” said Tom Hoban, President of Kitson & Partners, in a press release. “The merger allows us to focus even more on our core business of real estate investment and development in a market that is on the rebound.”

Former K&P Clubs president Rich Hohman now works for BCG, along with Ron Wonderling, Regional Vice President of Operations. BCG also retained all on-course employees.

Kitson & Partners had managed as many as 17 facilities with 20.5 18-hole equivalent courses until recently. Ten of the facilities were in Florida.

Peter Hill, Chairman and CEO of BCG, had reached out to Kitson Partners about taking over the portfolio.

“Over the years, we have come to know and respect Kitson & Partners Clubs for its comparable culture and values,” he said in a press release. “We will ensure each client’s unique business objectives receive considerable attention and custom solutions.”

BCG now operates more than 147 18-hole equivalent golf courses, more than all but three management companies in the world.
The merger with K&P Clubs follows BCG’s recent acquisition of Women on Course, a golf-networking organization.
