With more than 30 years of experience in the turf industry, Scott Grego has built his career on a deep understanding of turf performance, maintenance, and sustainability. His passion for the profession began as a teenager working for his uncle at Dundee Golf Course in Michigan and led him to earn a degree in Turfgrass Management from Michigan State University.
Scott began his career at Dominion Country Club in San Antonio, where he developed a strong appreciation for golf course management and eventually became the club’s Superintendent. After seven years in that position, he transitioned into the sales and consulting side of the business, specializing in fertilizers, chemicals, and turf equipment. This combination of agronomic expertise and business acumen has shaped his holistic perspective on turf management and surface performance.
In addition to his golf background, Scott has overseen the maintenance of 14 soccer fields, including Toyota Field for the NASL league—experience that broadened his knowledge of high-performance sports surfaces and the daily realities faced by turf managers around the country.
Now part of CapillaryFlow, Scott is passionate about introducing the company’s breakthrough Capillary Hydroponics™ technology to the turf world.
“After decades in the turf industry, it’s inspiring to be part of something that truly changes the game. Capillary Hydroponics completely redefines how we water and manage turf—growing stronger, healthier grass while using up to 85% less water. It represents the future of sustainable turf management, where turf science and technology come together to give superintendents, groundskeepers and turf managers worldwide unprecedented control, precision, and efficiency.”
Outside of work, Scott enjoys traveling with his wife and five children and spending time by the water—fitting for someone who has spent his career helping others use less of it.
