River Forest Country Club in Pennsylvania sold

Four partners bought River Forest Country Club in Freeport, Penn. Right before it was set to be sold at a sheriff’s sale, the Valley News Dispatch reported.

The property was scheduled to be auctioned at a Westmoreland County Sheriff’s sale on March 1 as a result of a $3.9 million court judgment sought by PNC Bank against River Forest Estates, River Forest Golf Club and River Forest Partners.

The course has a restaurant and banquet hall. It was built in 1966. The news owners plan to add bunkering and may change or rearrange the holes. They also hope to add a swimming pool and tennis courts to make the site a “full-destination country club,” Duster said.
