McConnell Golf, founded in 2003 by John McConnell, is currently the largest owner of private clubs in its region. In addition to its flagship property, Raleigh Country Club, McConnell Golf owns and manages properties throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia, and most recently signed a 10-year lease with Raleigh Golf Association to manage its 27-hole public facility.
