Kent National sold, likely closed for good

Kent National Golf Course near Royal Tunbridge Wells, which closed to the public last fall, has been bought by a local businessman.

The property, originally developed by Japanese architect K Saito in 1991 as a championship-caliber golf facility, and purchased by British Empire Golf nine years later, will apparently be developed for other uses.

No purchase price was disclosed.
