Development of the Year honorees announced

While golf course development has continued to be slowed by economic pressures — particularly in the U.S. — there’s no shortage of work that inspires and enthralls.

That’s one of the results gleaned from Golf Inc.’s 2013 Development of the Year contest.

This year, Golf Inc. honors six new courses, including one from Vietnam, the first course from that nation to be honored.

The winner — Shanqin Bay Golf Club in Hainan, China. It beat out stif competition, including:

Streamsong Resort, Streamsong, Fla.

The Red Course at Dismal Greek Golf Club, Mullen, Neb.
