Desert Mountain to open seventh golf course

Desert Mountain Club is wrapping up work on its seventh golf course — the appropriately named No. 7 at Desert Mountain.

The 18-hole par-54 layout and clubhouse at the Scottsdale, Ariz., private club will open this spring. It is one of only two private par-54-rated courses in the U.S.

The course is designed by two Desert Mountain members, Bill Brownlee of M3 Cos. and Wendell Pickett of Greey|Pickett Partners. The two also designed the unique Li’l Wick nine-hole short course at Wickenburg Ranch & Social Club in Wickenburg, Ariz.

No. 7 at Desert Mountain is the centerpiece of a new 90-acre residential community within the Desert Mountain Club that includes a lighted putting green alongside the new family-oriented clubhouse that includes indoor-outdoor dining facilities and bocce ball courts.
