Kitsap County, Wash., bought the Rolling Hills Golf Course in Bremerton, Wash., for $2.2 million in mid March. The purchase agreement requires Rolling Hills Golf Course to pay $200,000 per year for 20 years to Pink Life Foundation, the designated charity of former owners Dan Rasmussen and Kerma Peterson. The first payment will be made October 2012.
Rolling Hills Golf Course will make the donations out of revenues, without assistance of county tax dollars. The Donald A. Hogan-designed course has also been debt free since it opened in 1972. The county expects revenue and rounds to increase thanks to $150,000 in improvements made last year, which included a new fleet of golf carts. Greg Peterson and Ted Hudenich stepped in as the head superintendent and club pro respectively after the purchase.
