Bob Husband’s company adds another course

Bellagio Road, a golf and resort ownership and management company headed by longtime industry veteran Bob Husband, has finalized a lease agreement to operate Copper River Country Club in Fresno, Calif.

The semi-private club, built 23 years ago on a former vineyard site, is owned by the Tatham family. It includes a golf course designed by architect David W. Pfaff, an award-winning tennis complex and a fitness center. It also includes a restaurant that is open to the public and a banquet-wedding facility.

According to a statement from Troutman Sanders, the law firm that represented the Tatham family, the initial agreement was for a direct sale, however, both Husband and the Tathams eventually agreed to a seven-year lease that included the sale of undisclosed assets and inventories to Bellagio Road. The management firm has an option to purchase the entire club within six years.

Husband, president and CEO of Del Mar, Calif.-based Bellagio Road, has more than 38 years of experience in the golf industry. He formerly headed Heritage Golf Group and Cobblestone Golf Group and was a co-founder and CEO of GolfCorp, which eventually became the public course subsidiary of ClubCorp.
