Peed Golf President Zach Peed is quickly moving to expand his Dormie Network of private destination clubs. His latest acquisition is Hidden Creek Golf Club in Egg Harbor Township, N.J. The sale price was not disclosed.
The seller was Roger Hansen, chairman of the Ole Hanson & Sons construction company, who had owned the club since it opened in 2002.
“Hidden Creek is a world-class golf club in every way,” Peed said. That makes it a good fit for the Dormie Network’s goal of creating a network of high-end private destination clubs. He said his company would work to enhance the member experience at the club.
Founded in 2016, Dormie Network previously acquired properties include the Dormie Club in Pinehurst, N.C.; Victoria National in Newburgh, Ind.; Ballyhack Golf Club in Roanoke, Va.; ArborLinks in Nebraska City, Neb.; and Briggs Ranch Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas. Peed has been investing into the properties, primarily to upgrade and add more lodging. The business strategy is to sell a limited number of local memberships with a larger number of national memberships, and then to provide lodging for members to encourage them to travel to the different clubs within the network.
Hidden Creek includes an 8-bedroom lodge, opened in 2002.
The course has hosted the 2015 U.S. Senior Amateur Championship and has been the site of several U.S. Open qualifying events.
