Historic Dallas County Club in Highland Park, Texas, will undergo a renovation project designed to restore the classic architectural look of the course built in 1912.
The course, which has undergone several modifications since it opened, was originally designed by Scottish-American architect Tom Bendelow, who designed nearly 600 courses in his 35-year career.
The renovation at the course was prompted as part of a clubhouse renovation that necessitated adjusting a number of holes.
Architect John Fought will spearhead the projct, which will include conversion of high sand-face bunkers to grass-face bunkers, with slightly elevated greens and rectangular tees. The course will retain its par-70 configuration but will be lengthened from 6,266 yards to 6,600 yards.
