Innovative Club Management, a private club and hospitality management company, has been chosen to lead the reinvention of Lionheart Country Club and Farmington Polo Club in Connecticut. ICM will oversee operations, agronomy, food and beverage, retail, membership, programming and the long-term repositioning of both properties.
Lionheart Country Club, formerly known as Blue Fox Run Golf Course, was purchased by a local food distributor last year. As part of the rebrand, the club was turned private and the 27-hole course began a renovation by Jim Fazio. Nine holes have been completed, with the rest still forthcoming. The club plans to complete the renovation in groups of nine holes so that there is always a portion of the course open for members.
The club also features international equestrian grounds, polo matches, wellness facilities and venues for weddings and other events
“Lionheart and Farmington Polo are not looking for a caretaker. They are looking for a transformation,” said Alex Hammill, founder of Innovative Club Management. “Ownership made it clear they wanted bold thinking, out-of-the-box ideas and a partner who understands that hospitality, not facilities, is what makes a club great. That is exactly what we build.”
ICM specializes in unique amenities, fast execution and member experiences outside the box of a standard country club. It focuses on five pillars to make its work stand out: processes, people, product, position and programming.
Lionheart and Farmington become the second and third properties in ICM’s management portfolio, joining Rose Creek Country Club in Edmond, Oklahoma.
