Heritage Golf Group has acquired three private clubs in Florida from MG Orender, managing partner of the three properties. The clubs — The Plantation Golf & Country Club in Fort Myers, Country Club of Ocala in Ocala and The Palencia Club in St. Augustine — bring Heritage’s overall portfolio to 46 properties, including 12 in Florida.
Plantation GCC’s 18-hole championship golf course was designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan, ASGCA, and Dana Fry, ASGCA. Its clubhouse, known as The Great House, features a large practice facility and offers its members and guests multiple dining options as well as popular event spaces.
Country Club of Ocala is a full-service private club hosting a celebrated 18-hole championship course designed by Steve Nugent. The course affords players an experience unique to central Florida, showcasing rolling terrain that is lined with oaks and hardwoods. Other club amenities include seven tennis courts (five hydro clay and two hard), pickleball, an Olympic-sized pool and a full-service fitness center.
The Palencia Club showcases an 18-hole championship course designed by Arthur Hills and a three-story, 33,000-square-foot clubhouse offering panoramic views, multiple dining venues with both casual and fine dining options, and spaces for member events, banquets, and special occasions.
“The addition of these three dynamic clubs marks an exciting milestone in Heritage’s continued growth,” said Mark Burnett, CEO of Heritage Golf Group. “Each property, while unique, reflects the core qualities of our portfolio, exceptional golf and vibrant member experiences. It has been a privilege to work collaboratively with MG and Hampton Golf throughout this smooth transition, and we look forward to building upon the strong foundation they’ve established at these clubs.”
Heritage has already begun working on capital improvement plans for each property that will be shaped by member and employee feedback to ensure any changes will adhere to the clubs’ individual culture and needs.
