Troon Golf, the world’s largest management company, has signed a pair of new management deals in the U.S.
Scottsdale-headquartered Troon will manage The Bridges Golf & Country Club in Montrose, Colo., and The Rawls Course on the Texas Tech campus in Lubbock, Texas.
The Bridges includes a Nicklaus Design golf course that was named one of the top 10 new courses in 2005 by Golf magazine, as well as a 29,000-square-foot clubhouse that hosts the Remington’s casual fine-dining restaurant. The Bridges is semi-private, with preferred access for members.
The Rawls Course, designed by Tom Doak, is the home course of the Texas Tech men’s and women’s golf teams, and is also open to daily fee play or annual memberships. Doak moved some 1.3 million cubic yards of topsoil to create an undulating links-style course out of the site of an old cotton farm.
Rawls has served as host course for a number of Big 12 Conference competitions, including the 2009 Big 12 Women’s Championship. A fully amenitized clubhouse is currently in the planning stage.
