Southworth forms new golf division

Southworth Development LLC has created a new division called Southworth Golf, which combines the company’s former golf construction and management components into a separate entity.
Southworth Golf will be responsible for providing course operations management and construction services to both current Southworth-developed or managed properties and potential third party management client properties added to the Southworth portfolio.
Greg Sherwood, a company partner and former president of Southworth Golf Construction, will now serve as president of Southworth Golf. Timothy Cole, former president of Southworth Golf Management, will move into the company’s development division and assume asset management responsibilities.
Current Southworth projects under development include Machrihanish Dunes in Scotland with its David McLay Kidd-designed course, Meredith Bay’s luxury residential community on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, and PGA Village-The Bahamas, with its Rees Jones-designed course.
The company has been involved in construction of a number of high profile golf and resort projects in recent years, including Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, N.J., Trump International in Puerto Rico and the Wyndham Rio Mar Beach Resort in Puerto Rico.
Company founder and CEO David Southworth said the company will be announcing several major new acquisitions in both ownership and management capacities in the near future.
