Master Golf Management is taking over operation of  Toldeo’s public golf courses at Ottawa, Detwiler, and Collins parks.

Under the five year contract deal, Master Golf will pay the city $20,500 a month for the first two years to operate the courses. Eagle Golf of Dallas had previously operated the courses.

Greg Fish, operator of Master Golf, plans to improve programs and playing conditions at the courses and improve the buildings and driving range. Under the care of Master Golf, Toledo’s public golf courses are scheduled to reopen April 1.

Two Toledo council members voted against the contract because Master Golf the South Toledo Golf Club. One councilman worried that Master Golf  “could let our golf courses go to pot and siphon off business for his own golf course.”
