Lyon Golf merged into OB Sports Golf Management, it was announced this week. The Scottsdale, Ariz.-based company has managed more than a dozen golf properties since 1988, but was operating only ASU Karsten Golf Course at the time of the merger.
Mike Conner, managing partner of Lyon Golf, will join the executive team at OB Sports as Senior Vice-President of Operations. Scott Lyon, who is CEO of Westroc Hospitality, will serve as a special advisor and consultant to the team. Westroc is developer and operator of several resorts and hotels in greater the Phoenix area including the Sanctuary Resort on Camelback Mountain in Paradise Valley and the Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale.

OB Sports currently manages more than 37 courses, including a growing portfolio in Arizona. It took over the Golf Club at Chaparral Pines, a private club in Payson, Ariz. in the fall. OB Sports assumes the management of the ASU Karsten Golf Course, with Mike Conner continuing to serve as the lead. Conner has been a partner in Lyon Golf since 1988, and brings to the OB team a wealth of food and beverage experience. Prior to joining Lyon, he conceptualized, owned and operated The Eggery restaurants and served as Vice President of Charthouse, Inc., which under his direction opened and operated more than 88 Cork n’ Cleaver restaurants across the country.
