Greenville, S.C.-based Love Golf Management has signed on to operate Virginia National Golf Club in Bluemont, Va., in the Shenandoah River Valley.
The management firm, headed by principals Davis Love III and his brother Mark, Greg Nesbitt and Scott Wigginton, has previously operated three other courses in the northern Virginia area.
Virginia National is a semi-private facility designed by Jerry Matthews, with four sets of tees ranging from 4,981 yards to 6,806 yards in length.
The golf course site is surrounded by Civil War history, with the Battle of Cool Spring having been fought on parts of the site, in an area where the famed Grey Ghost, John Mosby of Mosby’s Raiders fame, frequently surfaced.
