KemperSports takes over management for two courses

KemperSports has added two courses to its portfolio in the last month — The ACE Club, a private, non-equity course in the Philadelphia suburbs, and the Course at Aberdeen in Valpairaiso, Ind.

KemperSports is the seventh largest management company in the world with more than 100 18-hole equivalent courses. The ACE Group of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies owns the ACE Club, a Gary Player Signature Design course and corporate-oriented membership club.

“We’re pleased to work with KemperSports’ executive team to keep The ACE Club among Philadelphia region’s premier golf clubs,” said Ronald Rintala, Global Operations Officer, ACE Group.

The ACE Club is KemperSports’ first managed property in Pennsylvania, and its 14th course in the Northeast. Club amenities include a caddie program for players who prefer to walk as well as a practice facility that includes a two-tiered driving range, six target greens and an over-sized putting surface. The course has a 35,000 square-foot clubhouse that includes two lounges, 175-person dining room, boardroom, and men’s and women’s locker facilities.

The Course at Aberdeen was designed by Michael Hurdzan and opened in 1997.

“We are excited about the future of The Course at Aberdeen and look forward to bringing the course and experience up to its original promise under the leadership of KemperSports,” said course owner and developer Barbara Young.

Located 52 miles from downtown Chicago, The Course at Aberdeen has enjoyed a good reputation as a public golf gem, said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner.
