KemperSports secured management contracts to run two City of Ventura, Calif.-owned courses in mid-December and then started the new year off by finalizing the company’s first management deal in Indiana.
The additions of Olivas Links and Buenaventura in Ventura and Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, Ind., increased the KemperSports portfolio of managed courses to more than 90 in 29 states and Puerto Rico.
The two Ventura layouts were both designed by Torrey Pines designer William Bell, and the Buenaventura course was renovated in 2005 by Forrest Richardson, earning a “Best Public Course Renovation” award from Golf Digest in 2005.
Olivas Links has also been honored, earning the number 10 ranking nationally among municipal courses by Golfweek for 2009. The two courses upped KemperSports’ California portfolio total to 17 properties.
Prairie View, located 20 miles northeast of Indianapolis, is a Robert Trent Jones II design that has been ranked at or near the top of Indiana’s public courses since its opening more than 10 years ago.
