Heritage Golf Group to manage Legacy Golf Club

San Diego-based Heritage Golf Group has taken over management of Legacy Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla., following a decision last month by owner Troon Golf to return the course to lender Textron Financial.

Earlier this year, Heritage had expanded its traditional business model of club ownership to include third-party management deals.

Legacy Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer Signature design opened in 1997. The course was purchased by Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Troon Golf from the original developer in 1998, but Troon President Hud Hinton told the Bradenton Herald in August that the company did not feel the club is capable of supporting its reported $7 million in debt service to Textron.

The club, which has 110 members and had been doing approximately 40,000 rounds a year, was taken over by Textron in order to avoid a foreclosure sale.
