Bill Casper adds two courses, extends 6 contracts

Billy Casper Golf added its seventh facility in Pennsylvania with the signing of Butler’s Golf Course in Elizabeth Township, PA., and its 11th course in Florida with the addition of Alaqua Country Club in Longwood. The Vienna, Va.-based owner and operator also recently earned contract renewals at six courses across the U.S.

Management contracts were extended at Jack Frost National Golf Club, Blakeslee, Penn., Sanctuary Ridge Golf Club, Clermont, Fla., SouthWood Golf Club, Tallahassee, Fla., The Legacy Golf Course, Springfield, Tenn., Ashwood Golf Course, Apple Valley, Calif., and Kukuiolono Park and Golf Course, Kauai, Hawaii.

“A contract extension is the ultimate reward of a job well-done,” said Peter Hill, Chairman and CEO of BCG. “Billy Casper Golf has committed substantial resources to establish our infrastructure, so course owners realize improved returns on their investments.”

Hill said all six properties have increased golf rounds, non-golf amenities’ usage and total revenues under BCG management. In addition, each course is enrolled in the Audubon International “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” program, ensuring high standards protecting the environment and preserving the natural heritage of golf.

Butler’s Golf Course is located 45 minutes southeast of Pittsburgh, and features 36 holes, a bed and breakfast inn, and The Rock Run Inn restaurant. BCG will oversee all aspects of operations. It appointed Kevin McKay as General Manager and Tom Tokarski as Golf Course Superintendent. Both BCG veterans, McKay was most recently Director of Golf at High Bridge Hills Golf Club in High Bridge, NJ, and Tokarski was Superintendent at Compass Pointe Golf Courses in Pasadena, MD.

Opened in 1928, Butler’s Golf Course features two 18-hole golf courses, the Woodside and Lakeside.

Alaqua Country Club is an upscale private club in a gated community. Designed by Gary Player, it has been host to U.S. Open Qualifiers and is adjacent to the Wekiva River Buffer Conservation area. BCG plans to enroll both Alaqua and Butler's Golf Course in the Audubon International “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” program. Alaqua has expansive practice facilities with driving range, putting green, chipping area and sand bunker.

BCG will oversee oversee all aspects of member amenities, operations, golf course and property maintenance, sales, marketing and public relations, staffing and training, merchandising, restaurant and banquet activities, financial management, golf instruction and special events.
