WCI Communities golf courses are for sale, and the broker for the portfolio said it is in negotiations with a “promising and prominent prospective buyer,” according to the Tampa Bay Online.
Chris Karamitsos of Marcus & Milichap’s National Golf and Resort Properties Group is representing the sale of seven WCI Communities golf courses. The golf course portfolio, priced at $13.725 million, is comprised of courses located in and around the Sun City Center retirement community in the Tampa, Fla., market. Among WCI Communities’ non-core assets for sale: two 18-hole courses, Renaissance, and two 27-hole facilities, Falcon Watch and Sandpiper.
“We don’t have a contract yet so we don’t know if things will shake out,” Ekovich told Tampa Bay Online. “It’s an experienced owner. It would be a tremendous boon to residents of Sun City Center as golfers, because of their expertise. Residents would have flexibility to play other courses.”
Ekovich the portfolio drew good interest, with nine negotiation candidates.
“We selected one to negotiate the contract phase,” he said. “We are working toward a contract but we don’t have one yet. We are hoping to have a contract in the next three to four weeks.”
