Superstition Mountain Golf & Country Club, located near Phoenix, has been purchased by the privately held JSH Time LLC, an Arizona ownership group.
The club and its two Jack, Gary and Jack Nicklaus Jr.-designed courses had been in receivership for nearly a year after lender John Deere Credit foreclosed on a $26 million note to the original developer, the Lyle Anderson Companies.
Superstition Mountain is operated by Scottsdale-based OB Sports Management, which was hired by the receiver to manage the property on behalf of the lender. The club announced several months ago that one of the two courses would be open to public play on an every-other-day basis, with the other course reserved for members only.
The two courses are The Prospector, opened in 1998 and designed by Jack and son Gary Nicklaus, and Lost Golf, designed a year later by Jack and son Jack Jr.
