Architect Arthur Hills is no stranger to the Naples, Fla., area, with 25 courses to his credit in Southwest Florida and 50 in Florida overall, but even he must have been wondering at the wisdom of developing the high-end TPC Treviso Bay and its surrounding community at course groundbreaking in early 2006.
VK Development Corp., the community’s owners, decided to stay the course through the economic tsunami, however, and the course and community appear to be a home run.
The TPC course, which opened in December, hosted the Champions Tour’s ACE Group Classic in February. Perhaps even more significantly, land purchases, lot sales and home construction are booming, and VK Development principals Dr. Vincent Kuttemperoor and sons Sanjay and Ajay appear well on their way to solid profits on VK’s $215 million investment.
In addition to the par-72, 7,367-yard layout designed by Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest & Associates in concert with PGA Tour player consultant Hal Sutton, the community will offer a 70,000-square-foot clubhouse opening in 2010, and the 35,000 square foot Buona Vita Club & Spa.
Membership at TPC Treviso Bay is limited to community residents, who will also receive access to the other member clubs in the TPC network.
