Construction is scheduled to be completed next summer on an 18-hole championship course designed by Ernie Els at the Albany resort development on the island of New Providence in the Bahamas.
The course, which currently has nine holes grassed, is Els’s first design in the Bahamas.
The 600-acre oceanfront Albany resort project is being co-developed by the Tavistock Group, Els and Tiger Woods. In addition to the Els course, the development will feature a luxury boutique hotel, a number of different residential offerings, a beach club, spa and fitness center, a family water park and an equestrian center.
The development is being designed and master-planned by the Duany Plater-Zyberk architectural firm.
