Troon Golf adds three courses: Spain, Texas, Ariz.

Troon Golf recently signed three management contracts — in Spain, Texas and near its home base in Arizona.

Troon now operates La Reserva Club de Golf, its fourth management contract in Spain, and its second on the Costa del Sol. La Reserva Club de Golf is one of the five golf venues at Sotogrande, a popular, eight-square-mile resort enclave in Andalucia. (Sotogrande’s flagship golf property is Valderrama Golf Club.) La Reserva features one of the nation’s top courses, a nine-year-old Cabell Robinson design. It complements Troon’s other properties in Spain — the nearby Club de Campo de la Zagaleta, Lumine Golf Club in Tarragona and Las Colinas Golf  & Country Club in Valencia.

In Texas, Troon assumed operation of Cimarron Hills Golf & Country Club, a private community located just outside of Austin. The course features a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course and a 45,000-square-foot clubhouse.

“This is an exciting period for Cimarron Hills as we prepare the final stages of re-launching the project with new residential opportunities,” stated Gary Elbogen, vice president and general counsel, Desert Troon Companies.

Closer to home, Troon is managing Torreon Golf Club, a family-oriented club in Show Low, Ariz. Torreon is a three-hour drive from both Phoenix and Tucson, and spans 1,400 acres that border the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. Torreon offers a mix of luxury real estate, accommodations and recreational activities tailored for the entire family.
“Torreon is an exciting addition to our portfolio,” stated Ryan Walls, senior vice president, Troon operations. “We are confident that combining the club’s amenities and charming character with the skill and expertise of Troon Privé, our private club operating division, will result in an extraordinary experience for members and guests.”
