Troon adds Yas Links in UAE

Troon’s International Division added Yas Links in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates cementing a trinity of world-class golf courses in the city.

Aldar Properties, which recently acquired Yas Links, already owned Abu Dhabi Golf Club and Saadiyat Beach Club, both under Troon management. Jassem Saleh Busaibe, CEO of Aldar Investments said it only made sense to put their facilities under the same umbrella.

“Having seen the work that Troon have done with Abu Dhabi Golf Club and Saadiyat Beach Golf Club over the years, we have been very impressed with their expertise in agronomy and general golf operations,” he said. “We look forward to growing our relationship with Troon International and seeing positive results.”

Yas Links is ranked no. 44 in Golf Digest’s Top 100. Kyle Phillips designed the par 72 18-hole championship course. It is one of the few links courses in the region. The course also has a nine-hole Par 3 academy course, floodlit practice facilities and luxurious clubhouse.

“Yas Links is an exciting signing for us,” said Mark Chapleski, President of Troon International. “As a flagship venue in the Middle East, we are delighted to be managing the property going forward and to promoting Abu Dhabi as a must visit destination for any golf enthusiast.”

Troon strives to enhance operations such as course conditioning, food and beverage and recruitment while strengthening the reputation. Troon has 17 venues in the Middle East region.
