Golf Inc. announces new Editor in chief

Cypress Magazines, the publisher of Golf Inc. and Club Management magazines, announced the appointment of Kristin Ely as Editor in chief. Ely, an award-winning writer and editor with nearly two decades of journalism experience, is the fifth Editor In chief of Golf Inc. since the title was founded in 1991. 

Jack Crittenden, who has been Editor in chief for most of the past 21 years, remains President and Editorial Director of the company. 

"I am thrilled to place these titles in Kristin's hands and am confident she will bring a new level of excitement to the publications," Crittenden said. 

Ely most recently served as the Editor in chief of Irrigation & Green Industry magazine, where she led the transition of ownership from a publishing company to the Irrigation Association. In addition to her leadership with the landscape-focused magazine, she also spent seven years with GIE Media as an editor for various publications serving the recycling sector. GIE Media publishes Golf Course Industry magazine. 

In her new role, Ely will will oversee the editorial direction of Golf Inc. and Club Management, the official publication of the Club Management Association of America. 

“I am excited for the opportunity to lead these two well-respected publications in the golf industry and club management sectors,” Ely said. “I enjoy interacting with business leaders and learning what information they want to receive in a publication, then strive to deliver it. I look forward to getting to know the people that make these golf resorts and clubs so special.”
