ClubCorp has acquired The Ridge Club, a family oriented club in Sandwich, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod Bay. It is the company’s first course in the area and third in Massachusetts. It also operates Boston College Club, a city club in Boston, and Ipswich Country Club in Ipswich, about 85 miles north of Sandwich.
ClubCorp is actively working to broaden its footprint, offering members reciprocal play at its 300 clubs through its ClubCorp Network.
“We are very excited to welcome The Ridge Club – a truly unique club located in one of the most beautiful and historical parts of the country – to our portfolio of clubs,” said Tom Bennison, ClubCorp Chief Development Officer. “We look forward to enhancing club life for the members through capital improvements, innovative programming and access to the ClubCorp Network.”
Part of a gated community in Sandwich, Cape Cod’s oldest town, The Ridge Club features an 18-hole, Robert Von Hagge-designed golf course. Amenities include a 40,000-square-foot traditional Cape Cod-style clubhouse offering upscale and casual dining, cobble-stone patio, two Har-Tru tennis courts, and a swimming complex.
“Our members appreciate ClubCorp’s history of success and leadership and understand the value the company brings to the club and to membership,” said Jim O’Neil, President of The Ridge Club. “They are eager to take advantage of ClubCorp’s Network now and the capital improvements coming to the club.”
ClubCorp acquired Brookstone Golf & Country Club near Atlanta in July and opened The Collective, a new private club concept in Seattle in May.
