CBS Sports is entering the tee time market, thanks to a partnership agreement with Golf Pipeline.
Golf Pipeline announced in early November that CBS Sports Digital, a division of CBS Interactive, will provide support and promotion to help further grow the Golf Pipeline business and the game of golf.
Golf Pipeline, which was created in 2012 to become a destination for golfers to book tee times, is the third largest network of available golf course tee times serving more than 1,100 golf courses.
It competes with GolfNow, which is owned by The Golf Channel, and EZLinks, which has partnered with the PGA Tour.
“We are very excited to work alongside CBS Sports Digital,” said Brian Wroblewski, Founder and CEO of Golf Pipeline. “There is a strong cultural fit between us, and we believe the golf industry will benefit from this partnership. Golf Pipeline believes more than ever that the right combination of tee time inventory, a convenient set of features, and a social method of connecting golfers will maximize participation and serve as a winning model for the golf industry, driving rounds and revenue upward.”
Golf Pipeline hired Gene Pizzolato as the company’s new CEO and president. Pizzolato previously ran GolfNow.
