Billy Casper Golf to manage Dauphin Highlands in Pennsylvania

Billy Casper Golf recently added its eighth management contract in Pennsylvania with Dauphin Highlands Golf Course, an 18-hole facility located in Harrisburg.

The owners of the course, the Dauphin County General Authority, selected BCG to oversee: operations, golf course and property maintenance, sales, marketing and public relations, staffing and training, merchandising, restaurant and banquet activities, special events, golf instruction and financial management. The company did not disclose financial terms of the deal.

The golf course has struggled financially for the past few years only making enough money to stay afloat, but not enough to pay off its debt load of nearly $11 million in 2011 and escalating to about $15 million in 2012.

The Dauphin County General Authority plans to sell the course.

BCG also plans to incorporate its BCGreen conservation initiative, which focuses on wildlife and habitat management; outreach and education programs; chemical use reduction; water conservation and water quality management.

BCG, a Virginia-based company manages more than 140 properties around the country.

Dauphin Highlands features an Ault, Clark and Associates-designed 18-hole, a large driving range and practice facility. The expansive clubhouse includes a pro shop, Highland Pub and event space.
