Atlantic Golf Management to acquire Cape Fear National

Atlantic Golf Management is expected to close on the sale of Cape Fear National at Brunswick Forest in Leland, N.C., in September, according to local sources.

Atlantic owns Brunswick Plantation in Calabash, N.C.; Welington National Club, Wellington, Fla.; Myrtle Beach, SC; and Whispering Pines Golf Course, Myrtle Beach, SC

Cape Fear National, designed by Tim Cate, features prominent bunkers that run the entire length of the hole on holes 5, 13 and 16. The course winds through heavily undulating land and features several bridges through wetlands, three waterfalls, and beach bunkers, all flanked by native Southeastern North Carolina grasses and wildflowers, according to the website.

Touchscreen GPS golf carts provide precise yardage for each shot, speed pace of play, order food at the turn and can contact staff.

According to an article in the Port City Daily, the public course offers discounted rates to homeowners and membership packages to nonhomeowners.
